The Scale Imperative (Routledge, June 2026) is a practical playbook for scaling services in the age of AI. Authored by three operators — Ioana Codoban PhD, Andreas Huebner, and Rahul Jindal — with combined 50+ years inside Google, fintech, and global enterprise transformation. The book introduces a five-phase Scale Framework (Incubate → Validate → Expand → Amplify → Embed), an operational tool called the Menu of Services, and a model for the Strategic Scale Team — the dedicated function modern enterprises need but most don't yet have.
Confusing the two is the most expensive strategic error of the cycle. Growth adds; scale changes shape.
The users-to-employees ratio has collapsed from ~500 to ~50 to potentially 1. Every pre-2023 scaling framework needs rewriting.
A deliberate discipline with measurable KPIs — not a reactive scramble. Designed like infrastructure.
